Broccoli microgreens

Clean, mild cabbage sweetness. The everyday green that never fights the dish.

Broccoli microgreens are young broccoli plants, harvested once their first leaves open. They taste like a softer, fresher broccoli. I sell them in a 50 g pack for $9, and they’re one of the four greens in every Super Pack, harvested on Monday, packed in Richmond and at your door in Vancouver on Tuesday.

What broccoli microgreens taste like

Mild and clean, with a little cabbage sweetness. The taste is closer to a raw broccoli stem than to cooked florets, and there’s no heat at all. The leaves are small, round and bright green, on crisp ivory stems.

It’s the mildest green I deliver, so it’s the one to start with if you’re new to microgreens. It goes with almost anything and never takes over the plate.

How to use broccoli microgreens

Use them raw, or add them at the very end of cooking so they stay crisp. A small handful per plate is plenty.

  • On eggsA big pinch on scrambled eggs, an omelette or a fried egg, once it’s off the heat.
  • In bowlsOn rice or grain bowls, with a squeeze of lemon and a little olive oil.
  • In sandwiches and wrapsWith the lettuce, or in its place, for a fresh green crunch.
  • In smoothiesA handful blends in with banana or mango and barely changes the taste.
  • On soupA pinch on top of lentil soup, a curry or ramen, just before you serve it.
  • On avocado toastWith lemon, chilli flakes and a pinch of salt.

How to keep them fresh

Put the box in the fridge as soon as it’s in. In the fridge, in the closed box, they stay fresh for up to 10 days. Keep them dry, and rinse them just before you eat them.

More tips are in my guide to storing and using microgreens.

What’s in a pack

A single pack is 50 g of broccoli microgreens for $9, in a clear box. Broccoli is also one of the four greens in every Super Pack, beside red radish, sunflower and pea shoots: 140 g for the whole box, $25 on its own or $20 a box on the weekly plan.

Delivery is included, no tax is added, and the minimum order for delivery is $20. Any three single packs reach the minimum, or add a Super Pack.

How it gets to you

Harvested on Monday, weighed and packed in Richmond, and at your door on Tuesday, during the day, anywhere in Vancouver west of Knight Street. You don’t need to be home: I leave your box at your door.

Orders close at 8 pm on the Sunday before each Tuesday up to the Nov 24, 2026 box, and at 9 am on the Monday before each Tuesday from the Dec 1, 2026 box. Checkout shows your Tuesday before you pay.

Allergens

Broccoli is in the same plant family as mustard. If you have a mustard allergy, ask your doctor before you eat it.

I pack every green in the same place, so any pack may have a trace of another green, mustard included.

Questions

Do broccoli microgreens taste like broccoli?

A little. They have broccoli’s fresh, green taste with a mild cabbage sweetness, but they’re much gentler than cooked broccoli, and the stems are crisp, never woody.

Can I cook broccoli microgreens?

You can, but they’re best raw. Heat softens them in seconds, so add them at the very end: stir them into a soup or a stir fry just before you serve it.

Are broccoli microgreens in the Super Pack?

Yes. Every Super Pack has broccoli, red radish, sunflower and pea shoots, packed side by side, 140 g for the whole box.

How do I order just broccoli?

Add a Broccoli pack in the shop on my homepage. The minimum order for delivery is $20, so order at least three single packs, or add a Super Pack, to reach it. Delivery is included.
